Nikol Pashinyan and Anna Hakobyan Engaged in Steel Scrap Export, Says Mikael Minasyan in New Video

Nikol Pashinyan and Anna Hakobyan have been involved in the export of steel scrap since 2018 without paying the state's share. This was stated today, on June 13, by Mikael Minasyan, the former ambassador of Armenia to the Holy See, in the ninth episode of his Facebook video series titled "Feudal Who Escaped from Chains: Plunder by Exporting Iron."

The process of making money began for Nikol Pashinyan and Anna Hakobyan in July 2018 when they established KAP company, dubbed the "Step to Action Project." This project, meant to create investments and jobs, has been siphoning off the budget by exporting steel scrap without paying the state's due fee of 80,000 drams per ton, except in cases where one can prove that the scrap is composed of their own production waste.

Prior to 2018, the numbers for metal scrap exports were very low, but between 2018 and 2019, 50,000 tons of metal scrap were exported from Armenia. The only contract related to this scrap was for 7,000 tons, exported to Russia, where they "convinced" customs that it was scrap of Armenian origin, purchased in the Kotayk region, which supposedly has production. The Armenian Chamber of Commerce provided the necessary documents for this.

Minasyan stated that as a result, the Pashinyan family has earned 4 billion drams. He added that he is giving a week for the guilty parties to confess, as all the documents are available. It should be noted that several documents were also published during the video.
