The Consequences of Non-Unity: Tevan Poghosyan
Today was truly a day of complex perceptions for me. This is what Tevan Poghosyan, the president of the International Center for Human Development and an advisor to the President of Armenia, wrote on his Facebook page.
“Yes, the pandemic and actions aimed at saving human lives are understandable, acceptable, and comprehensible, but... But I have two observations from human and professional perspectives.
From a human perspective: I love my friends – my true friends – and I am always by their side. Today I am with Ruben. I am confident that he is a strong individual, and for his principles and beliefs, he will always go all the way. He will go all the way for all of us. Ruben teaches us once again through his struggle that one cannot fight for someone else's rights without also fighting for his own. Just as he fought for others' rights in Artsakh, he fights here as well. Thank you, Ruben, for today.
From a professional perspective: To communicate any political message, one needs the right tools, proper representation, and a messenger to realize one's desire. Today, those fighting for the public were more persuasive than state institutions. Indeed, it won't take much time to get an answer to this issue. Our everyday life will provide the answer. But I hope that the results we will have in a week will teach us that admitting mistakes is not shameful if you intend to correct them.
P.S. Regardless, I will not name names; I will not point fingers, but I will not tire of periodically repeating: have you still not understood the consequences of non-unity? Every new day teaches us all new lessons. What else must happen for the message to reach us? I say this without exception for all of us.
