Wearing Masks Reduces Coronavirus Spread by 40%, German Scientists Discover
Wearing masks can reduce the spread of the coronavirus by 40%. This is confirmed by a study conducted by scientists in Germany. In one city, where wearing masks was mandated relatively early, the infection rate dropped by a quarter within 20 days.
According to Forbes.ru, when comparing with other cities, the effectiveness may even be higher. The researchers collected data from 401 districts in Germany. "We find the most reliable and convincing statistical evidence, which allows us to say that wearing masks in public places has greatly reduced the likelihood of infection," the authors state.
