Political Summer Heats Up in Parliament: My Step Members Already Warned
The newspaper "Hayots Ashkhar" reports: "The political summer is heating up in Parliament as well. On June 13, a special session of the National Assembly will convene to discuss the government's decision regarding the extension of the state of emergency, which was established on March 16 and has already been extended twice, for another month.
According to "Hayots Ashkhar", members of My Step have already been warned to be prepared for both that session and the fact that the entire month of June will be busy, as the deputies will spend the whole day in Parliament. Firstly, discussions regarding the draft state budget for 2019 are still ongoing during these days, and on June 16, the next session will begin, which will have a rather full agenda, including the discussion of budget execution.
Despite this being the last ordinary session, there will be no shortage of extraordinary sessions due to the state of emergency and the necessity of adopting new projects resulting from the coronavirus situation, as well as discussing unfinished issues. Furthermore, depending on the response from the Venice Commission, it is not ruled out that the issue of the Constitutional Court will also be addressed by the authorities before Parliament goes on recess; otherwise, this issue will be revisited in September. So, hot days are expected ahead."
