Onik Gasparyan to Dismiss Former Personnel: Details Emerge

According to the "Haykakan Zhamanak" newspaper, details have emerged regarding the events taking place in the Armed Forces General Staff. The situation will not be limited only to the dismissal of the former head Artak Davtyan. According to our sources, new head Onik Gasparyan is set to make personnel changes within the system.

The issue is that Artak Davtyan brought in close associates and assigned them to positions, and it is possible that these individuals will be dismissed after his departure. Specifically, this includes the commander of the second army corps, Araik Harutyunyan, who is close to Davtyan and, according to widespread rumors within the system, lacks professional competence and is not considered suitable for such a significant position.

However, this is not the only reason Araik Harutyunyan may be removed from the system. As it is known, Artak Davtyan submitted his resignation on May 8, a day after his son's wedding ceremony, while the country is in a state of emergency, and top government officials have called for no such events to take place. It turns out that among the guests at this wedding was none other than the commander of the second army corps, Araik Harutyunyan. Moreover, it has been reported that wild boar meat was served at the wedding, which was supplied by Harutyunyan himself.

In any case, our sources in the Ministry of Defense report that Onik Gasparyan may also appoint his people to key positions in the Armed Forces, but this time not based on personal ties, but rather professionalism. Regardless, changes in the General Staff have already begun.
