10 Elderly Residents of Nursing Homes to Be Relocated to Small Community House
The Armenian Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has acquired a suitable building to take care of 10 elderly residents currently living in nursing homes. This facility will soon undergo renovations and be adapted for its new residents.
The implementation of the program has been made possible through a contract signed between the ministry and the Dutch foundation ‘Avondglans’, which will provide €100,000 for the construction and furnishing of the community house.
It is noteworthy that this project aligns with the ministry’s policy of deinstitutionalization for the elderly, aiming to improve the quality of elder care services through the establishment of community small houses.
The program will be executed in three phases: acquisition of the building, renovation, and construction work, along with furnishing. Essentially, the first phase of the project has already been completed, and the renovation and furnishing phase lies ahead.
