VIDEO: The First Positron Emission Tomography in Armenia Finally Launched - Arsen Torosyan

Health Minister Arsen Torosyan has published a video on his Facebook page, stating: "Finally, the first Positron Emission Tomography (PET/CT) was completed in Armenia after a 10-year wait.

Alongside the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, it is crucial to ensure the accessibility of other medical services in the country, especially when the borders are closed and our citizens are deprived of the opportunity to receive these services abroad.

Starting next week, all our citizens, particularly those with cancer who require a PET/CT scan using the FDG-18 isotope, will be able to undergo the procedure at the Radiopharmaceutical Production Center, and they will not have to seek these services elsewhere, either now or in the future.

This, indeed, is a victory for our country. I thank everyone who contributed to making this important service accessible in Armenia, from physicists to doctors."
