Patients Begin to Suffocate Right Before Your Eyes: Petros Manukyan
Recently, there has been a noticeable increase in the number of severe and critically ill patients, leading to a heightened burden on hospitals. This was stated by Petros Manukyan, Deputy Director for Medical Affairs at St. Gregory the Illuminator Hospital, during a briefing following a meeting of the commandant’s office on June 10.
“Patients have multiple comorbidities that severely complicate the course of the illness. Imagine a patient being admitted to the hospital with indicators that are not characteristic of severe illness, and shortly thereafter, clinical symptoms such as suffocation, anxiety, and shortness of breath arise, creating a situation that leads to an uncontrollable progression of the disease. Patients literally begin to suffocate right before your eyes. Here, respiratory devices come to our aid.
Unfortunately, the disease progresses uncontrollably, presenting surprises, and its complications today are also unmanageable,” he said.
