Tsarukyan Enters the Confrontation Field: Pashinyan Again Threatens Him with Criminal Charges
The newspaper "Irates" writes: "The parliamentary opposition has moved to a radical field. Over the past two years, the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), which had maintained a strictly neutral stance, has recently made a sharp turn. In the past, when Gagik Tsarukyan, who became a owner from an oligarch thanks to Pashinyan, and his political force operated on the principle of 'neither here nor there,' they would occasionally catch and then release Sedrak Arustamyan, the CEO of Multi Group, for some sharp economic remarks. Today, the situation has changed.
Tsarukyan is entering the confrontation field, and Pashinyan again threatens him with criminal charges. It would be laughable to believe that the BHK leader did not foresee this.
Stepping away from the personal aspect of Tsarukyan, we note that this activation is also a signal of something else. If a major businessman is already stepping out against the current government, it means that the situation around Pashinyan is much more serious, because a businessman would not oppose a government that has tax and legal leverage capable of quickly removing him from the field without sensing the whiff of an impending change of power.
It appears that indeed this government's train has left, and it is not only businessmen who are rising against it, but also the chief official sitting on the country's money, the head of the State Revenue Committee, Davit Ananyan, who calculates and collects the funds of these businessmen.
We should not rule out that among the factors for his resignation is that, due to the current economic situation, the State Revenue Committee can no longer carry out tax collection, and its lever and hammer will inevitably break upon its leader’s head. With one resignation, Davit Ananyan solved two issues: he relieved himself from blame for the government's sins and distanced himself from its dark dealings.
Returning to the parliamentary opposition, we add that the process of unification of political forces has begun, and significant political developments should be expected after the end of the state of emergency."
