Smbat Gogyans and Nikol Pashinyan Meet: Noteworthy Details
The resignation of Smbat Gogyans, the president of the National Higher Qualifications Committee (BOK), seems to be unaccepted by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan. According to the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper, Prime Minister Pashinyan has met with Smbat Gogyans to discuss the reasons behind his resignation.
Our sources report that the Prime Minister has a high regard for Gogyans and appreciates his professionalism, which is why he has not signed off on his resignation request. Additionally, according to our information, recently the Prime Minister has personally been meeting and interviewing individuals whom he intends to appoint to positions, in order to understand their backgrounds and past experiences.
Even the appointments of deputy ministers for education, science, culture, sports, and youth affairs are being carried out under the direct supervision of the Prime Minister.
Yesterday, the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper spoke with Smbat Gogyans to clarify whether it is true that the Prime Minister has not yet signed his resignation request, submitted on May 22. Gogyans confirmed that he met with the Prime Minister, but regarding whether the Prime Minister managed to convince him not to leave his position, he stated, 'I am not authorized to disclose the content of the conversation. I am currently at BOK, and I am working.'
