In Gavar City, Roofs and Entrances of Apartment Buildings to be Renovated
In Gavar city, as part of the subsidized programs implemented by the Government of Armenia, three apartment building roofs and 13 entrances will be renovated this year. The Gegharkunik Regional Administration reports that according to information provided by the department of development programs, tourism, and analysis, the total cost of the project is 93 million drams, with 65% or 60 million 450 thousand drams funded by the Government of Armenia and 32 million 554 thousand drams allocated by the Gavar City Hall.
Gavar's Mayor Gurgan Martirosyan confirmed that the subsidized projects will cover the roofs of the apartment buildings on Azatutyun-38, Azatutyun-14, and Movsisyan-1, as well as nine entrances, which will be supplemented by the four entrances of the Kabelagortsner-9 building.
"The construction work bidding will be announced soon. The construction works will be completed within seven months of the start date. The renovation of roofs has become a serious issue for the apartment buildings in the city, as most of them still have shingle roofs that have deteriorated over decades, creating a hazardous situation primarily for the preservation of the buildings. The entrances of the apartment buildings are also in a dire state, requiring major renovations, including the installation of new doors and windows, internal finishing, and insulation of energy supply cables. Year by year and in several phases, we will attempt to fully address the issue," the Gavar mayor stated.
