How Will the Khachatryans-SSS "Duel" End? New Details Revealed
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that new details have emerged regarding the processes surrounding the former Minister of Finance of Armenia, Gagik Khachatryan, who is currently in custody. According to our sources, the law enforcement system is facing serious challenges in this case.
The matter at hand is that the investigation conducted by the National Security Service has established that Gagik Khachatryan caused damage to the state amounting to 7.5 billion drams. Interestingly, in recent days, representatives of the law enforcement system have informed the former minister that he needs to return the full amount to the state, essentially offering a deal by stating, "Return the money and you will be freed from criminal prosecution."
However, "Zhoghovurd" has learned that in response to this proposal, Gagik Khachatryan stated that he could only return 3.5 billion drams, but the law enforcement officials did not agree and insisted that he must return the entire amount. Khachatryan then refused, stating that in that case, he would not return anything at all, and declared that they should prove his guilt and substantiate that he has caused a loss of 7.5 billion drams to the state.
It remains to be seen how the Khachatryans-SSS standoff will conclude.
