Erdogan and Trump Discuss Regional Issues in Phone Call

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump, where they discussed regional issues, with the main focus being the situation in Libya. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

During the call, the Turkish president outlined the topics discussed. “Today, we discussed regional issues with President Trump, primarily the situation in Libya, which is of great concern to the United States. We confirmed that everything is going very well there now, and we provided details about the events taking place,” Erdogan stated.

Erdogan mentioned that a new phase may begin in U.S.-Turkey relations regarding the issue of Libya. “We have reached clear agreements, but they still need to be discussed with the esteemed President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. There may be negotiations with him,” Erdogan noted.

He also assured that Turkey supports the Government of National Accord led by Sarraj, which is backed by the UN and the international community. “Now very important areas have come under the control of the Government of National Accord, and their progress continues,” the Turkish president declared.
