Mandatory Mask Wearing for Taxi Drivers Even When Alone in Their Vehicle

As announced by the Government and reiterated today by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a Facebook live broadcast, the government has established regulations regarding mask-wearing in vehicles. According to this, a driver alone in their vehicle is not required to wear a mask.

Auroranews has received numerous calls, particularly from taxi drivers, inquiring whether the decision applies to them and why they are being fined for not wearing masks when they are alone in their vehicle. Therefore, we present an excerpt from the RA Commandant's decision No. 63, dated June 3, 2020.

Dear taxi drivers, we quote the excerpt from the RA Commandant's decision No. 63, dated June 3, 2020, which exclusively pertains to you:

This means that even if you are alone in your vehicle, wearing a mask is mandatory for taxi drivers.

Auroranews also reported this with RA Commandant Tigran Avinyan's spokesman Vahan Hunanian stating, “The rule regarding not being required to wear a mask applies to personal use vehicles.”

Dear taxi drivers, even if you are alone in your vehicle, wearing a mask is mandatory for you. We understand that wearing a mask can be difficult, but we also believe that health is much more important.
