If I Get Infected and Recover, That’s Wonderful: I Gain Immunity, but There’s No Guarantee I Won’t Die or That One of My Relatives Won't Die – Prime Minister

If I get infected and recover, that’s wonderful because I’ll have gained immunity for at least a year. However, if I am infected, there’s no guarantee I won’t die, and there’s no guarantee that one of my relatives won’t die. This is the entire complexity of the situation.

This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a Facebook live session.

“My family has been infected with coronavirus, and we discuss that once we overcome this virus, our lives will change completely, as we won’t have fears about communicating with our loved ones and friends since we will have overcome the virus and gained immunity. We can communicate freely with everyone, and we can send Arpi to kindergarten without worrying that she will get infected or infect others,” the Prime Minister said.

He added that it seems to be a good solution to get infected, recover, and everything will be fine. However, according to the Prime Minister, there are two issues involved. “First, even now, no one can guarantee that we, our family, will end up well because it’s an unpredictable disease. The second issue is how many of my relatives will get infected from me and how many will I lose during this time. This is the insidious nature of the coronavirus,” he noted.
