Ruben Sargsyan Appointed First Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs
In accordance with the decision No. 644-A of the Prime Minister of Armenia dated June 2, 2020, Ruben Sargsyan has been appointed as the First Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs.
According to the text of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's decision: "Guided by Article 9, Part 1 of the Law on Public Service of the Republic of Armenia, Ruben Sargsyan is appointed as the First Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs."
Biography
Ruben Sargsyan was born on September 9, 1977. From 1999 to 2004, he studied at the Faculty of Political Institutions and Technologies of the Armenian-Russian State University. He underwent professional training within the framework of the International Visitors Leadership Program of the U.S. State Department, focusing on labor rights and labor inspection.
Since 2004, he has been active in the field of labor law, authoring numerous studies and analyses, as well as legislative initiatives related to the sector. He has participated in policymaking processes and provides consultancy services for newly established trade unions, along with advocacy regarding the protection of violated rights and interests.
Since 2007, he has headed the APR Group, a Public Research Think Tank. He is also a member of the public observation group conducting public oversight in penitentiary institutions and bodies of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia. He is the author and co-author of more than two dozen studies and is fluent in English and Russian.
