Turkey's COVID-19 Infection Cases Exceed 158,000
On May 26, 29 people died from the new type of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Turkey. This was announced on the official Twitter page of the Turkish Minister of Health, Fahrettin Koca.
He noted that in a single day, 19,853 tests were conducted, resulting in 948 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus. During the same period, there were 28 recorded deaths from the infection and 1,492 recoveries. This information was reported by Ermenihaber.
According to official data, a total of 121,507 people have recovered from the pandemic in Turkey, while 739 patients are currently in intensive care units.
Thus, according to the latest figures, Turkey has registered a total of 158,762 infection cases, and 4,397 deaths. The number of tests carried out has reached 1,873,607.
The peak of the coronavirus in Turkey occurred at the end of April. Currently, according to published data, the number of COVID-19 infection cases in the country is gradually decreasing.
It is noteworthy that the first confirmed case of coronavirus in Turkey was reported on March 11, and the first death occurred on March 17.
