Major Accident in Gegharkunik: Police Officer Dies on the Way to Hospital

A tragic traffic accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region today, May 21. According to Shamshyan.com, around 21:00, two vehicles collided head-on on the 54th km section of the Sevan-Martuni-Geghamavan highway, in the administrative territory of the village of Yeranos. The vehicles involved were a GAZ 24 with license plate 13 LL 696 and a VAZ 2107 with license plate 340 DF 499.

As a result of the accident, two individuals were taken to the Martuni Medical Center with bodily injuries. One of the injured did not regain consciousness while on the way to the hospital and sadly passed away.

According to the website's sources, the deceased was Gohar Zakaryan, who worked as a senior inspector in the Gegharkunik regional police department.
