Around 580 Businesses' Operations Suspended: AASTD

The Health and Labor Inspection Body of Armenia continues extensive oversight activities in Yerevan and provincial subdivisions. They are constantly monitoring compliance with the safety rules established by the Prime Minister aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) among businesses. Both large enterprises such as supermarket branches, manufacturing, and construction, as well as small entities like pharmacies, hair salons, dental clinics, etc., are being observed.

Based on violations recorded by the inspection authorities, since March 23, the activities of around 580 businesses in Yerevan and the regions have been temporarily suspended by the Prime Minister's decision; the suspension is currently for 24 hours. The main violations recorded include non-compliance with mask and glove usage by employees, inadequate disinfection processes, improper temperature checks, and inadequate maintenance of logbooks.

The oversight activities of the Health and Labor Inspection Body also rely on complaints received via the hotline at 8107 and through online submissions. The AASTD urges business operators to strictly adhere to the Prime Minister's directives. Compliance with the established norms is mandatory, and failure to comply will result in administrative liability.

Since January 24, the Health and Labor Inspection Body has been continuing its work under an enhanced oversight regime.
