Closure of Police Kindergarten Suspended: State Revenue Committee
As part of a study conducted by the State Revenue Committee of Armenia between June and September 2019, it was revealed that the "Child Development Center" (the Police Kindergarten) was subject to closure by an order from the head of the Armenian police in September 2019. During the study period, more than 90 children of police employees attended the kindergarten.
Further work during the study also found that according to agreements between the Armenian police and "Avag Shinj" LLC, the company was supposed to allocate a certain area in the multifunctional residential building constructed at the same address to the kindergarten in ownership to replace the property and land of the kindergarten by May 19, 2018, which had not taken place.
As a result of the efforts of the State Revenue Committee and the Armenian police, based on the Prime Minister’s directive, the closure of the kindergarten has been suspended. Additionally, "Avag Shinj" LLC has committed to provide the kindergarten with an additional land area of 401.2 square meters adjacent to the kindergarten building for use as a playground for the children.
This has been formalized in the Armenian government’s decision No. 721-A dated May 7, 2020. Currently, the kindergarten continues its regular activities, and many children from the families of fallen officers and socially disadvantaged police employees attend the kindergarten.
