Unlicensed Currency Exchange Operation Revealed in Martuni City, Gegharkunik Province

The State Revenue Committee (SRC) has revealed yet another instance of currency exchange operations being conducted without the necessary license, this time in Martuni city of Gegharkunik province. The SRC provided this information.

Specifically, according to intelligence received by the SRC, an individual was engaged in currency exchange transactions without the appropriate license in an area adjacent to one of the banks operating in Martuni city. During the operational and investigative measures taken to implement the acquired information, an individual from Martuni was caught and detained immediately after conducting a currency exchange.

Subsequent to a personal search, a significant amount of cash, including foreign currency, was found on the individual. A criminal case has been initiated at the SRC's Investigation and Operational Intelligence Department based on the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia regarding this apparent crime.

The SRC Investigation and Operational Intelligence Department once again urges citizens to refrain from engaging in currency exchange transactions without the proper authorization.
