Thank You for Your Work. Torosyan to Healthcare Workers
The Minister of Health of Armenia, Arsen Torosyan, has written on his Facebook page:
Dear colleagues in the primary healthcare system,
Dear healthcare workers from city polyclinics, rural ambulatory facilities, and health centers,
In a few days, hundreds of our citizens with a positive test result for coronavirus, who do not have symptoms or have very mild ones, will return home from isolation places, while new diagnosed citizens will not be isolated in hotels or hospitals. Their home monitoring will fall on all of your shoulders, as it did previously with citizens having mild symptoms of acute respiratory infections.
This change is due to two factors: the first is the increasing number of citizens with positive diagnoses day by day, and the second is the change in the strategy for managing asymptomatic cases in terms of optimal use of beds and other resources.
To implement this change in strategy smoothly, the National Institute of Health of Armenia will conduct extensive remote training courses on the management procedures for COVID-positive patients in home settings. I kindly urge and call on all of you to actively participate in these courses.
To maintain the connection between the primary healthcare chain and the hospital system efficiently, a call center for doctors will be established at the St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center, where physicians with greater experience in treating coronavirus will provide consultations to their colleagues on both methodological issues and specific patients. Details regarding the call center will be communicated to you in due course.
The effectiveness of the fight against this global challenge will also depend on your dedication and responsibility. We must all overcome it together.
Thank you for your work.
