Drivers of Trucks Cross the Iran-Armenia State Border with the Support of the Human Rights Defender
Citizens have reported to the hot line of the Human Rights Defender's Office and requested the Defender's support regarding the issue of crossing the state border from Iran to Armenia with trucks. This was announced by the Public Relations Department of the Human Rights Defender’s Office.
According to the report, several truck drivers are located in the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran near the border of the Republic of Armenia and have been unable to enter Armenia for 3-4 days due to queues of over 300 trucks. The citizens added that representatives from the Iranian side informed them that the Armenian side is not accepting trucks, but they claim that vehicles with Iranian license plates are allowed to enter Armenia during nighttime hours.
The Human Rights Defender's Office has presented the issue to the authoritative representative of the Headquarters, and discussions have taken place regarding solutions to the issue. As a result of cooperation, several truck drivers have been given the opportunity to enter the Republic of Armenia.
