Stepantsminda-Lars Road Open Only for Freight Transport
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of May 17 at 08:00, the roadways in the Republic of Armenia are mostly passable. The road leading to the Karaglitch Lake in the Aragatsotn Province remains closed for an indefinite period, while the road to Amberd Fortress is difficult to pass.
Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Emergency Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia’s North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open only for freight transport after intensive snow removal work.
At the same time, it is reported that the decision to prohibit the entry of foreigners into Georgia remains in effect. The ban does not apply to freight transportation.
