Citizen Who Ran Over MP with Bicycle Placed in Custody
A member of the public initiative "Will for the Protection of Armenian Values," Arthur Aleksanyan, who ran over MP Nikolay Baghdasaryan from the "My Step" faction of the National Assembly with a bicycle, has been placed in custody for a period of two months. This information was reported by human rights defender Ruben Melikyan.
"The cyclist was detained for a two-month period under Article 316 (only police officers can be victims under this article). This exceptional work of legal futurism has secured its place in our collection," Melikyan wrote on his Facebook page.
As previously reported, on May 11, MP Nikolay Baghdasaryan applied to the Central Police Department, stating that on the same day, between 17:00 and 17:15, an unknown person rode a bicycle at high speed towards him in front of the Constitutional Court, attempted to run him over, and then directed threats and obscene remarks at him.
