Robert Kocharyan's Defense Team Files 14 Complaints with the ECHR
The defense team of the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, has filed 14 complaints with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). According to Armenpress, Kocharyan's lawyer, Hayk Alumyanc, provided this information.
“Currently, Robert Kocharyan's defense team has submitted 14 complaints to the ECHR, 10 of which have been registered; there are no details available for the remaining ones,” Alumyanc stated.
On May 8, discussions regarding three motions submitted by Kocharyan's legal team took place at the Shengavit branch of the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction concerning the complete release of Kocharyan from detention and the application of bail or personal guarantees.
The court ruling is expected to be published on May 13 at 17:50.
The second President of Armenia, who is undergoing inpatient treatment at the Izmirlian Medical Center, underwent surgery on the morning of May 12. Kocharyan has been in custody since June 25, 2019.
