Central Bank Condemns Actions Aimed at Violating Law and Public Order

The Central Bank of Armenia strongly condemns the deliberately orchestrated actions organized by citizen Manuel Manukyan and his supporters, warning that, in accordance with the law, the Central Bank will turn to the relevant authorities to hold the citizen accountable for actions aimed at violating legality and public order, as well as for provocative statements.

It is necessary to emphasize that the Central Bank has expressed its willingness to meet with the citizen to listen to his concerns and provide clarifications if necessary. However, this proposal was rejected, demanding the presence of a Central Bank representative on the street, which in the context of such provocation and intolerant behavior could have led to undesirable consequences.

Today, an unauthorized protest was held near the entrance of the Central Bank by citizen Manuel Manukyan and several of his supporters, accompanied by obvious provocative actions aimed at obstructing public order and the normal operation of the Central Bank.

Repeatedly, the citizen and his supporters have made provocative statements based on unfounded information, as well as calls that include offensive expressions directed at employees of the Central Bank and the financial system.

Under these circumstances, a written application submitted by them on May 11 of this year has been duly accepted and will be responded to within the established timeframe. Meanwhile, citizens have been repeatedly informed about the special working regime of the Central Bank and the regulations for entering the premises.

Under the guise of fighting against the credit policies of financial organizations, the mentioned individuals are making statements and calls that are not in line with reality and clearly mislead citizens, creating an emotional backdrop that incites some citizens to call for violence.

The financial system of the Republic of Armenia has proven to be stable and has consistently demonstrated its high resilience in times of crisis. The financial system of the Republic of Armenia is steadfast in its principle not to succumb to such provocations and will continue to carry out the functions entrusted to it by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia.
