We Are Trapped: Armenians Stuck at Lars

In the neutral zone of Upper Lars, there are about two dozen Armenian citizens experiencing various health issues. Marine Babayan, one of them, shared this information in a conversation with NEWS.am.

"There are 9 cars, 17 people, one of whom is an invalid on crutches, one is an elderly woman, and one has diabetes. We are trapped, do you understand? Some have been here for 10 days, others for a month. I have been here for 5 days. I'm alone, in my own car," stated Mrs. Marine, mentioning that they spent a whole day today trying to clarify the issue with the Georgian side.

It is worth noting that the citizens had expressed their concerns a few days ago. Following this, the Armenian Embassy in Georgia issued a denial, stating that the information published in the media claiming that some Armenian citizens attempted to enter Georgia by crossing the borders of the Russian Federation but have been unable to do so and have been stuck in the neutral zone of Upper Lars for a month is not accurate. The embassy's diplomats contacted the leadership of the Georgian checkpoint at Upper Lars, who confirmed that there are currently no citizens waiting in the neutral zone.
