Service Dogs Removed from Area in Emergency Cases: RA State Revenue Committee

The State Revenue Committee has implemented preventive measures against coronavirus at its canine center. This was reported by the RA State Revenue Committee. The area of the canine center is disinfected daily. Employee temperatures are measured twice, and hygiene rules are observed. To protect service dogs from potential coronavirus risks, specialists at the center work while wearing masks and gloves. Disinfection is also conducted for service dogs after their duty ends.

The service dogs of the K9 center within the Customs Enforcement Department of the SRCA are removed from the area only in emergency cases during this time. However, a permanent service remains at the Meghri Customs Point. During the state of emergency, some employees in Meghri have undergone extended retraining at the canine center, enhancing the narrow professional knowledge of dog handlers, as well as the working qualities and physical preparedness of service dogs.

Two dog-handler-kinologists retrained in the Republic of Uzbekistan conducted theoretical classes and practical sessions for department staff on the origins and development of cynology, dog psychology, and general and special training.

The K9 center of the State Revenue Committee continues to improve the physical preparedness of service dogs. Search training for narcotics and psychoactive substances is conducted in conditions mimicking real incidents, particularly in passenger vehicles, postal divisions, customs checkpoints, and imitation residential rooms. Alongside training, customs officers also care for the greening of the K9 center by planting over 300 trees.
