First COVID-19 Case Confirmed in Areni Community

A first case of coronavirus has been confirmed in the Areni community of Vayots Dzor. Hovik Sahakyan, the mayor of Areni, stated in an interview with NEWS.am, “A 60-year-old woman tested positive the day before yesterday. Two more individuals have been transferred to the hospital with fever; one is the woman’s husband, and the other is a contact from the family. Quarantine instructions have been given to those who were in contact with the infected. She has been in contact with many people; it’s a large village, and now we are busy identifying them. We are concerned,” the mayor noted during the conversation with the news outlet.
