Landslide on Getap-Martuni Highway Damages KIA Vehicle
On May 10, at 13:18, the National Crisis Management Center received information about a landslide on the Getap-Martuni highway near the village of Shatin.
An operational group from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that a landslide (about 5 cubic meters) occurred from the hillside near the 9th km of the M-10 highway, affecting the roadway and rendering the segment one-way. A KIA vehicle (driven by Henrikh B.) traveling on that road was damaged and became blocked by the fallen earth. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
The rescuers removed the rocks from the roadway and, with the help of specialized equipment, extricated the vehicle from the blockage. Employees of the “Yeghegnadzor Road Maintenance” LLC cleared the fallen earth from the roadway.
