On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of victory in World War II, UN Secretary-General António Guterres reminded that it was the unity of countries that led to the creation of the United Nations. The message was published on the organization's website.
He urged to never forget the Holocaust and other serious crimes committed during World War II. He considers the main mission of the organization to be freeing future generations from the horrors of war.
Guterres called for remembering the lessons of 1945 and for combining efforts to overcome the coronavirus pandemic, as well as building a safe and dignified future for everyone.
