Private Meeting Held Between Nikol Pashinyan and Bako Sahakyan in Stepanakert
A private meeting took place in Stepanakert between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Bako Sahakyan, the President of the Republic of Artsakh. Welcoming Prime Minister Pashinyan, Bako Sahakyan stated: “After assuming the office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia in 2018, you visited the Republic of Artsakh, and your presence as Prime Minister on this day adds unique significance to the triple celebration. Once again, together with you, we bow to the graves of our martyred compatriots. This day is also used to honor all those who have devoted their lives and efforts to liberate our homeland.”
The President of Artsakh noted that today a large army of people continues to participate in the beautification and development of the homeland. According to him, as part of tradition, they also use meetings to evaluate the results of the work done in the previous periods, and they must necessarily visit the Armed Forces. “Today, we will also be with you in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Artsakh, and I am more than confident that the work we have done recently and the tasks we have assigned will serve as additional proof that our homeland is protected, and the defenders of our homeland are faithfully fulfilling their patriotic duties, thereby creating additional opportunities for enhancing the effectiveness of our work directed towards the future,” he said. “We will also visit several sectors of the economy, where we have recorded modest results as part of our joint efforts. I am confident that today’s work will serve as an additional basis for better mobilizing our collective potential and increasing the effectiveness of our joint activities.” He expressed his pleasure in welcoming Pashinyan and congratulated him on the occasion of the triple holiday.
Pashinyan, in his speech, mentioned: “Dear Mr. President, congratulations to us all on the occasion of the triple holiday and especially on the occasion of the day of the liberation of Shushi. For the third year, we are celebrating this glorious holiday in Stepanakert together, and I believe it is a very good tradition that also carries content. The Prime Minister also congratulated on the presidential and parliamentary elections in Artsakh. He added: “In the near future, the inauguration of the newly elected president will take place, but I want to express my words of appreciation to you for our joint work during this time. I am confident that we will have many opportunities and occasions to discuss and work on the programs outlined during this period.” He noted that despite the coronavirus pandemic, he found Artsakh and Stepanakert to be in high spirits. “Our unified and national goal is to ensure that every May 9 is more festive in Artsakh, Armenia, and among the entire Armenian diaspora. Let our gaze towards the future be more optimistic and let us be more confident in today. I am sure that this will happen, because our people have enormous potential, a small fraction of which has actually been realized and utilized, and May 9 and Shushi give us greater confidence in our strength, our future, and our present. We all have a collective and united debt to our martyrs. We must honorably fulfill that debt and return that debt multiplied to future generations. Once again, I congratulate you.”
During the meeting, the participants discussed matters related to the further cooperation between the governments of Armenia and Artsakh.
