No, no, and no. The Governor of Ararat Region is not afraid of the coronavirus
In the village of Ranchpar, Ararat region, following the state of emergency, the governor of Ararat Region Garik Sargsyan arrived without a protective mask or gloves, while Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is seen wearing a mask in the National Assembly.
When asked by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan whether he was afraid of the coronavirus, the governor smiled and replied, 'No, no, and no.'
It should be noted that a state of emergency has been declared in the Ararat region. Due to the rising water level of the Metsamor River flowing from the Armavir region into the Ararat region, water has overflowed into the Sevjur River, which has damaged the agricultural lands of the residents of Ranchpar village.
According to the photojournalist, a firefighting unit from the Ararat regional rescue service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as an operational group, has arrived on the scene. To reduce the water level, a crane has been brought to Ranchpar village to open a non-functioning second valve for water regulation; however, it has not yet been possible to do so, and rescuers are having to use special equipment to manage the valve.
Ararat governor Garik Sargsyan has also arrived at the scene to examine the issue. In conversations with the photojournalist, the villagers stated, 'If the river had been cleaned in time, there wouldn't have been this situation. Every time such situations occur, the responsible parties promise to clean it up, but it all comes to nothing, and the Sevjur River brings another flood upon us. Now we want to believe that this time at least they will draw conclusions, as Governor G. Sargsyan has arrived on site.'
