Prime Minister Provides Details from Meeting with Marukyan
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, recently addressed the incident that occurred this morning from the podium of the National Assembly.
During his speech, the Prime Minister shared what he discussed with Edmon Marukyan during their meeting yesterday:
"Yesterday, the leader of the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction invited me for coffee, and I accepted the invitation. I went down to my former office, where Mr. Marukyan was seated, and I directly stated, 'Yes, Mr. Marukyan, we all have grounds to suspect that you and your activities are an inseparable part of the whole plan to carry out moral-psychological and physical violence.' Watching the recording of the incident that took place this morning, I have a simple question: Sorry for going into such details, but the incident, which is condemnable, occurred there. The question is, what was the individual giving a speech doing standing there, and why was he moving at high speed towards MP Sasun Mikayelyan as he was leaving the podium? Was he going to engage in political dialogue?"
