Our Faction's MPs Leave the Voting Hall: Edmon Marukyan
Following a break, the parliament continued its work. The leader of the 'Enlightened Armenia' faction, Edmon Marukyan, approached the podium and stated that he could no longer continue the same speech.
According to him, what happened is their problem, but even more so, it's the leader of the revolution's issue.
“The incident that took place occurred about three hours ago, and we have not seen any response that befits a democratic political system. I believe that the foundations of democracy and the declared values of the revolution have been violated, and I think an unprecedented event has occurred in the history of Armenia. If you say that a deputy was hit in 1996 and again in 2002, as far as I remember, no faction leader has ever been hit from behind or the side. What took place is, overall, our problem as well, but more so it's the problem of the leader of the revolution. We will now leave the voting hall, and in the future, depending on the political evaluation and consequences, we will draw conclusions, determine our actions, and understand how we will work in this parliament,” he said.
