I Exclude the Possibility of a Document on the Nagorno-Karabakh Issue at the Negotiating Table, Edmond Marukyan
We always have concerns regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. The concerns that have become a subject of speculation have been alleviated, and I exclude the possibility of a document being on the table. This was stated by the leader of the "Enlightened Armenia" faction in the National Assembly, Edmond Marukyan, during the Public TV program "Interview with Petros Ghazaryan," while responding to the statement by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh issue and the meeting with Prime Minister Pashinyan today.
Marukyan noted that there have always been concerns related to the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, adding that after the Russian Foreign Minister's statements regarding Karabakh, the faction decided to discuss the matter: "I do not believe that any government in Armenia would pursue a solution unfavorable to Armenia regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. However, if something is being discussed extensively, then we, as a parliamentary force, must keep our finger on the pulse to understand what is happening."
According to Edmond Marukyan, no government can take on the burden of secretly negotiating with the Armenian people.
In his opinion, the time will come when the government will present what it is negotiating in a closed or open format: "If I had doubts, I would be the first to shout out, but as a parliamentary force, I cannot remain uninformed about the situation. The Nagorno-Karabakh issue has always been a domestic political tool. As far back as I can remember, there have been rumors about land concessions, but the fact remains that no land has been surrendered yet. Now, whether something is being discussed or not concerns me very little," said Marukyan.
