Georgia Recalls Its Ambassador to Ukraine Following Saakashvili's Appointment

Tbilisi has recalled its ambassador from Kyiv after former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili was appointed head of Ukraine's Executive Committee for Reforms by President Volodymyr Zelensky's decree last night.

“Saakashvili's appointment, who has been convicted and wanted in Georgia, served as the basis for this decision to call Georgian Ambassador to Ukraine Teimuraz Sharashenidze for consultations,” stated Georgia's Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani.
