Pashinyan on Eric Grigoryan's Dismissal from Office

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed questions in parliament today regarding the environmental situation in Armenia, as well as the reasons behind the dismissal of the Minister of Environment, Eric Grigoryan.

“First of all, I would like to thank Mr. Grigoryan for his work during this period. I am confident that he has done his utmost to achieve maximum results. Work itself is a complex phenomenon; there are questions, phases, and times when decisions need to be made, and decisions have been made,” the Prime Minister noted.

The PM mentioned that significant achievements have been made in the field of environmental protection with the Minister's participation, particularly that the issues concerning water measurement at small hydropower plants have been nearly resolved, and jobs have been created.

“I have said several times, and sometimes I feel that by making such statements I am also being unfair towards the members of the government. Am I satisfied or not? If you ask me if I am satisfied with my work, I will say no, I am not satisfied. This does not mean that I consider myself idle, that I am doing nothing, and that I am not taking measures to solve problems. But I want us to do more, even more than is possible, more than is impossible, because in 2018 we did the impossible, and in 2019 we did it again, but in 2020 we must do even the more impossible, in 2021 even more impossible things, and so on,” said the PM.

It is noted that Nikol Pashinyan's spokesperson Mane Gevorgyan announced that Eric Grigoryan has been dismissed from the position of Minister of Environment at his own request.
