An Investigation Will Be Launched to Thoroughly Examine the Causes of the Incident: Shushan Stepanyan's Clarification
The spokesperson for the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Shushan Stepanyan, posted a clarification on her Facebook page regarding the assistance provided to families with children aged 0-18. Under the 9th program for mitigating the economic effects of the coronavirus, a one-time financial aid of 26,500 AMD was granted to families where both parents are unemployed.
“The number of citizens benefiting from this program is quite large, which also includes some civilian employees and servicemen from the Ministry of Defense. Identifying these individuals is a labor-intensive and time-consuming process. Currently, studies are being conducted, and a service investigation will be initiated to thoroughly examine the causes of the incident and take necessary actions,” stated Stepanyan.
“On the other hand, many servicemen and employees within the Ministry of Defense, upon discovering that they are not entitled to the benefits, have voluntarily expressed their desire to return the funds to the relevant treasury account. Many refunds have already been made,” Stepanyan added.
