«A Little Bit of Stone in Your Garden Too» – Pashinyan to LHK
There are three reasons for the rise in crime. One of these was attributed today by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to the "Bright Armenia" party during a session in the National Assembly. He referred to the issue of amnesty.
“I’ll throw a little stone in your garden too,” Pashinyan said. He noted that following political changes, under the political pressure from the LHK, they decided to declare amnesty. Pashinyan remarked that the increase in crime is also a consequence of the amnesty.
“Forgive me for my expression, it’s true, I also came out of prison through amnesty, but overall, I consider amnesty a very bad tool, because practically 60-70 percent of those released through amnesty are caught committing new crimes within the next 1-2 years,” Pashinyan stated.
