No Foreign Tourists Expected in Egypt in the Near Future

The Egyptian Minister of Tourism, Khaled Al-Anani, has announced that international tourism will not return to Egypt in the near future. According to a report by "Armenpress," this information was shared by "RIA Novosti."

He explained that the return of foreign tourists to Egypt depends not only on the situation within Egypt but also on conditions in the countries where the tourists reside.

Al-Anani stated that representatives from various countries have inquired whether Egypt could reopen for tourism in June. The minister mentioned that the government would consider this possibility only when the situation regarding the coronavirus becomes clearer.

He noted that travelers will likely need to prove that they are not infected. Additionally, there may be age restrictions imposed on tourists, for instance, limiting visitors to those under 48 years old.

The minister informed that until June, hotels will operate only for local residents.
