Appointment of Kyaramyan as Deputy Director of NSS is Political, Says Prime Minister's Spokesperson
The decision to appoint Argishti Kyaramyan as Deputy Director of the National Security Service (NSS) is political and has been made within the framework of legislative regulations. This was stated by the spokesperson for the Prime Minister of Armenia, Mane Gevorgyan, in an interview with HJ.
Armtimes.com asked Gevorgyan whether it is true that Kyaramyan was appointed for one day and then relieved from the position of Deputy Chair of the Investigative Committee to ensure that the title corresponds with legislative requirements before being appointed as Deputy Director of the NSS. "Considering Kyaramyan's work performance, it was deemed more appropriate for him to continue his work in the position of Deputy Director of the NSS. Everything is within the framework of legislative regulations," said the Prime Minister's spokesperson.
It should be noted that Argishti Kyaramyan was appointed as Deputy Head of the State Oversight Service (SOS) on April 10, 2019, and from April 25, he had been performing the duties of the head of the service. He was relieved from his post yesterday and appointed as Deputy Chair of the Investigative Committee. Today, he has been relieved from the position of Deputy Chair and appointed as Deputy Director of the National Security Service by presidential decree.
