Which Sectors Will Resume Operations Starting Today

Starting May 4, a number of restrictions will be lifted in several sectors within the framework of the state of emergency declared to prevent the spread of the new type of coronavirus in Armenia. Tigran Avinyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and head of the state of emergency regime, presented which sectors are allowed to operate:

• Wholesale and retail trade: repair of automobiles and motorcycles
• Retail trade of food, beverages, and tobacco products in kiosks and markets
• Retail trade of agricultural products, clothing, and shoes in markets and kiosks (only for kiosks)
• Other retail trade in kiosks

Accommodation and Public Catering:

• Restaurant services exclusively outdoors
• Fast food outlets exclusively outdoors
• Ice cream sales from carts (the provision of hookah is prohibited in exceptional cases)
• Bars and cafes exclusively outdoors
• Beer houses and taverns exclusively outdoors
• Sale of drinks from mobile points (the provision of hookah is prohibited in exceptional cases)

Administrative and Support Activities:

• Organization of commercial trading spots exclusively for food-selling entities, pharmacies, and agricultural product markets

Education:

• Exclusively online or remote methods

Culture, Entertainment, and Leisure:

• Activities of botanical and zoological gardens and specially protected natural areas, reserves
• Activities of archives
• Activities related to virtual gambling
• Activities of sports facilities exclusively for professional athletes' training and sporting events
• Activities of sports clubs exclusively for professional clubs

Other Service Activities:

• Services for religious ceremonies (funerals and others)
• Activities of political organizations

Temporary restrictions will continue to apply in the following sectors throughout the Republic of Armenia:

• Wholesale and Retail Trade: repair of automobiles and motorcycles, retail trade in kiosks and markets
• Transport and Storage: operation of urban and suburban passenger transport
• Accommodation and Public Catering: hotel and similar accommodation services if no registration record for guests is maintained, services of restaurants and mobile food points, services of bars and drink-serving similar points
• Administrative and Support Activities: organization of conferences, trade exhibitions
• Culture, Entertainment, and Leisure: activities in organizing creative, artistic, and theatrical performances, activities of libraries, archives, museums, and other cultural organizations, activities related to organized gambling, activities in sports, and other entertainment and leisure-related activities
• Other Service Activities: activities based on membership in other organizations, activities related to maintaining physical health
