Two More Correctional Institutions Join New Food Provision System

As of May 1, 2020, the Araratian Ministry of Justice's "Hrazdan" and "Sevan" correctional institutions have joined the new food provision system for incarcerated individuals managed by "Ready-Steady" LLC, which presents the "Art Lunch" brand. This system was launched in 2019, and currently, the company already provides food to 9 out of the 12 correctional institutions.

This information was reported by the media service of the Penitentiary Service. The food provision process was initiated in October 2019 at the "Armv armen" and "Nubarashen" prisons through a pilot program, which was entrusted to the winning private company in an open tender, "Ready-Steady" LLC. Due to the high efficiency of the project and the satisfaction of the beneficiaries, it was introduced in March 2020 at the "Abovyan" and "Goris" prisons, and starting in April at the "Prison Hospital," "Yerevan-Center," and "Vardashen" correctional institutions. By June 2020, this system will be implemented in all 12 correctional institutions in Armenia.

It should be noted that the food provided by "Ready-Steady" LLC for incarcerated individuals includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which is prepared daily within the correctional institutions by specialized chefs. To ensure the diversity of the food, "Ready-Steady" LLC offers a new menu each week while maintaining the quality, caloric value, and other beneficial properties of the diet, which is approved by the head of the correctional institution. The new food supply culture in correctional institutions not only ensures quality food for prisoners and detainees but also partially or completely eliminates the transfer of food parcels.
