Manvel Grigoryan's Defense Team Appeals to the Government

The former president of the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union, General Manvel Grigoryan’s lawyer, Levon Baghdasaryan, has issued a statement appealing to the Government:

“I know that whatever I say, I will be targeted by some, because General Manvel Grigoryan is perceived as someone who steals food from soldiers, as that was desired or presented. It no longer matters. Manvel Grigoryan can be accused of rudeness, cruelty, and various kinds of bad things, just as many war commanders can be accused who have seen war, fallen into captivity, captured, liberated territories, maintained them, and handed them over to future generations. During the Artsakh heroic war, Grigoryan didn’t even attend the funeral of his fallen brother. I don’t know if history will curse today’s generation in a hundred years or not, but one thing is certain: neither today’s generation nor tomorrow’s can deny that General Manvel not only defended the security of the Armenian nation from another genocide but also liberated a small part of Mother Armenia’s territory and, most importantly, was able to maintain it and later pass it on to today’s guardians.

It is no secret that the illnesses that Manvel Grigoryan acquired during the years of war have worsened over the past year, reaching a severe stage that is no longer treatable in Armenia, according to the treating physician; it can only be treated abroad. It is clear that in the absence of treatment abroad, one day, one month, or God knows when, Manvel Grigoryan will die. If today’s authorities have taken God’s authority upon themselves and decide whether the patient should go abroad for treatment, as it is no longer possible to be treated here, or remain, then that assessment will also be given from above.

Today, in order to restore Grigoryan's health, the defense team is appealing to the Government of Armenia for permission to seek potential treatment abroad.
