Residents of Geghamasar Community Infected with Coronavirus Work at Sotk Gold Mine

As already reported, today a case of coronavirus was confirmed in the enlarged Geghamasar community of Gegharkunik Province. In a conversation with ArmDaily.am, the community leader Hakob Avetyan announced that there are 2 cases from the community—one from Sotk and the other from Shatvan.

“Both are middle-aged men, aged between 40 and 50. They work at the Sotk gold mine. If the Sotk gold mine is operational, then border control becomes pointless, as there are about 1000 people working there from the Vardenis region, and several cases have already been reported among the workers from different communities,” he stated.
