Investigation Committee's Term to Be Extended: Operation Ineffective, Says 'Zhoghovurd'
The newspaper 'Zhoghovurd' reports: The term of the Investigation Committee examining the organization of ground passenger transportation in the National Assembly and the activities of the authorized bodies serving, coordinating, and supervising the sector from 2016 to 2019 will be extended by six months. 'Zhoghovurd' has learned that the committee made this decision during a closed-door meeting, summarizing its findings, and the issue will also be discussed in the upcoming session of the National Assembly scheduled for May 5.
It should be noted that the term of each investigation committee can only be extended once, after which a report on the findings must be presented. During its existence over the past months, the committee has only held two meetings, according to data on the official National Assembly website. Moreover, they established a protocol on January 24, discussed the invitation of officials on March 2, and met yesterday to decide on extending the operation period. The minutes include a phrase stating: 'distribution of work to increase the effectiveness of the committee’s work.' This indicates that they themselves acknowledge the inefficiency of their activities during these months. Additionally, the chairman of the committee is Artem Tsarukyan from the Prosperous Armenia Party.
