Compensation Rates for Soldiers' Leave Travel Increased
The government made a decision during its meeting today, April 30, to increase the compensation rates provided to soldiers for transportation costs when traveling to and from leave locations situated at a distance of 350 kilometers or more within the territory of Armenia.
Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan stated that this decision also applies to police forces and NSS officers. Tonoyan explained that previously, for example, if a soldier's service location was in Meghri and their residence was in Gyumri, the compensation covered only the journey to Yerevan.
He emphasized that this applies not only to contract soldiers but also to conscripts. The increase in additional expenses amounts to approximately 150 million drams annually, which will be sourced from the total funds allocated to the ministry.
