The Khachatryan Legal Team Reports Unlawful Actions Against Gurgen Khachatryan

The Khachatryan legal team has released a statement today that includes legal assessments and observations regarding the events of the last day, including a statement from the Prime Minister's spokesperson. The publication states:

“The report by Gurgen Khachatryan, co-founder of the 'Galaxy' company group and chairman of Ucom’s board of directors, which was published in dozens of media outlets, should have involved logical legal actions. The Prime Minister’s spokesperson publicly confirmed that not only is what Gurgen Khachatryan stated true, but also emphasized that illegal and unlawful redistribution of property is occurring, suggesting that there may be hidden interests involved.

What specific agenda and motives has the Government of Armenia adopted, which, let us emphasize, may not be in the interest of the state, but specifically for certain entities?

We find it crucial to state that the press spokesperson of the Prime Minister, by his official confirmation, speaks on behalf of the Prime Minister and the Government, having coordinated the content with his direct superior. Therefore, let us note that it is at least unacceptable for such a high-ranking official to make biased legal assessments and statements, such as 'according to the government’s information' or 'property of illegal origin.' Since when has the Prime Minister's office acquired investigative functions?

We note that the events occurring lack context and directly guide the actions of law enforcement bodies. After this statement, officials who should be involved in this case will operate under conditions of direct and overt pressure and will be constrained to record any other fact than what has been presented as an 'objective' reality by the Prime Minister's spokesperson.

We have witnessed insults and defamation occurring at a high state level. What does a corrupt 'mafioso' system mean? Are there such accusations, and is there any court ruling or decision?

We note that there has been a gross violation of the presumption of innocence of Gagik Khachatryan and his sons, regarding which we are considering the necessity and appropriateness of relevant procedural actions.

We inform that Gurgen Khachatryan's statement followed a notification. This further demonstrates that the entire criminal procedural toolkit is being applied without legal logic.

Given all this, we have urged Gurgen Khachatryan to reconsider the approach towards the illogical actions of law enforcement bodies, which may involve presenting, cooperating, and providing information. We hereby record that the processes that now serve a specific agenda are outside legal logic.

There is an evident and undisguised process of property redistribution, destabilization of businesses, and the intentional or reckless harm to thousands of employees, which now has a central responsible party, which we will record.
